After the Neerav Modi and Shipyard fraud, a new bank fraud with a huge amount of Rs 34,615 crore has been registered once again in India.
The fraud is perpetrated by Kapil Wadhawan and Dheeraj Wadhawan, chairman of India’s largest finance company DHFL.
The fraud is registered by CBI after the complaint from the Union Bank Of India.
According to Union Bank, since 2010, DHFL has provided its credit facilities by the consortium to the tune of more than Rs 44,000 crore, of which Rs 34,615 crore is still outstanding.
Later in 2019, the loan was declared a non-performing asset (NPA) and in 2020 it was registered as fraud.
It has registered a case against DHFL’s then managing director Kapil Wadhawan, director Dheeraj Wadhawan, Sudhakar Shetty of Sahana Group, and ten others.
