The Nobel Assembly of Karolinska Institute awards the Nobel Prize in Physiology / Medicine. In Literature, the Swedish Academy awards the Nobel Prize. The Norwegian Nobel Committee awards the Nobel Prize in Peace. Rabindranath Tagore is the first Indian Nobel prize winner and also the first Asian to be awarded the Nobel Prize. In 1913, Rabindranath was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature.
Abhijit Banerjee is the last Indian to receive Nobel prize in Economic Sciences, Oct 2019. He is the second Nobel Prize Winner in Economic Science. In 1998, Amartya Sen is the 1st Indian Nobel prize winner in Economic Science and also 1st in Asia. Chandrashekar Venkat Raman, Indian Nobel laureates in Physics in 1930.
